For June we are planning an informal social meetup and are trying to arrange pizza and drinks. So do come along and meet other Flash & Flex animators, designers and developers. So if you are an internet professional or are just interested in the Flash platform this is the place for you.
We will have a copy of Flash Catalyst and there will be a chance to get hands on and see if it really is as easy as Andrew Shorten made it look last month. Being part of the Flash Catalyst User Group Tour there should be lots of Catalyst and Flex related freebies as well as the most popular $2100 free software bundle.

A year has passed since Flash Oxford’s first meeting. I am glad to say it seems to keep getting bigger and better. I think this is mainly due to the continued support of everyone who attends, and by external speakers who are willing to share their passion for the “Flash Platform”. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to making this group work.
Going forward I am keen to keep up the momentum that is building around the group and as ever looking for ideas for new sessions and speakers for the meetings. There is obviously a demand for Adobe User Groups as during the year we have seen the setting up of Dreamweaver Oxford and there has been much talk of a group for Premier / After Effects. I am currently unsure how these might fit together, but it could provide some good opportunities.
For me what has been great about running Flash Oxford is threefold. Firstly, I have met many interactive designers and developers over the year who are using Flash in exciting ways. I have been kept up-to-date with all developments in the Flash world. Lastly, a great thing for everyone is free stuff, we normally have some freebies ranging from books, shirts and pens to full versions of CS4 software.
Do get in touch with me if you have any ideas or questions about Flash Oxford.
