As an Adobe User Group we are entitled to give away over $2000 worth of Adobe software biannually! Up until now we have done this through a raffle but this time we thought we could try giving people an opportunity to win it based on merit.

Flash CS5 takes on iPhone →
If you can’t beat them join them. Apple didn’t put a flash player on the iPhone so Adobe have been working on a Low Level Virtual Machine compiler infrastructure for Flash. Expect to see the beta release before the end of the year with full Action Script 3 compatibility.

Flash Oxford, 12 months later…
A year has passed since Flash Oxford’s first meeting. I am glad to say it seems to keep getting bigger and better. I think this is mainly due to the continued support of everyone who attends, and by external speakers who are willing to share their passion for the “Flash Platform”. Two days until the next Flash Oxford meeting. The good news is that Adobe have agreed to give away the $2000 software prize at this meeting.
It has to go to an individual and the winner will be picked at random from those who attend the meeting. The people that came to the last meeting will also be included and will have a double chance of winning if they turn up again on Thursday.

Next meeting 7.30pm, 5th June
As always all levels of users are welcome to this meeting. We will specifically be looking at integrating Photoshop and Illustrator design with Flash. I have requested a guest speaker for Adobe and expect to have a video conference session with them. We will also run through a design to product demo.
Doors open from 7.15pm, I look forward to seeing you all there.
OFVM to host the Oxford Flash User Group
Oxford Film and Video Makers have kindly agreed to let us use their facilities to host the user group meetings. I have scheduled in meetings on 5th June, 3rd July and 4th September. I think it will be a good venue as it has good projection facilities and internet connection. I am planning a few video conferences with Adobe developers so it will be a great help to be based here.
